I got this at a street market, there were many strange things for sale, but the owner had no idea on what she had.

A few days later I found a locksmith shop, with 300 different blanks on a rack and many padlocks. I bought another padlock like this. He tried to sell me a different one, a disk detainer. I told him I liked that unusual padlock and I asked for some blanks too. Unfortunately he told me he don't have "U" key blanks, and that it's impossible to find them in malaysia. That's why he was trying to sell me the other padlock. I looked carefully in his rack and he was sincere. I got the strange lock.

Cheers :)

I have a very small bogota Ray made for dimple locks. It was an interesting experiment. Since this keyway is very tight, I decided to try it with this nice lock, and after a few seconds it was open
The only difficult part was tensioning the strange keyway. I bent a piece of wire and literally pulled the plug with it. It was strange since I'm used to apply tension by pushing the wrench. Pulling it requires to hold it in place, and it's a bit more complicated than it may appear.

Then I decided to pick the other lock I bought with an half diamond and the same tension tool... took me a lot more than with the bogota, but in the end I opened it too.

Both locks are key retaining.

This shop was closed when I passed by, I went there twice and had no luck. If anybody will go to KL and pass trough Jalan Petaling street market, look for it, it could be interesting to talk to the owner. This is the only thing I regret I miss during my trip.

Cheers :)
