If you could post some pictures of the trunk on a photo hosting site and link to them in a post here that would be great... The location of the little bar the cam has to grab onto in order to hold the lid of the trunk down determines the shape of the cam bar on the lock, the type of rotation you would need (a different cam on the back of the plug) and the length of bar you would need -- also where you would need to install the lock on the trunk...
Depending on what type of trunk this is you might do better installing a surface mounted trunk lock and using a padlock with it like Squelchtone suggests... When such hardware is installed with the proper blind rivets or carriage bolts it can keep the lid closed through a variety of rough handling or attempted entry better than a single cam lock...
