What Lock Brand Has This Logo?

Postby virul » 13 Jan 2012 9:13

Hi guys,
I havent posted here very often, prehaps never, but i've got myself a real head scrather here. I put this post up on two lock picking sites yesterday and so far haven't got much in the way of answers.... which has made me even more curious.
................................................................................................................................................

I came across a few locks recently that i haven't seen before, all in government owned buildings. I was hoping someone could tell me the brand names or anything at all about them such as their country or origin.

The first was a euro cylinder that had a logo that looked like a letter V witha sort of keyhole shape in the middle, something like this.....

The second one I only glanced at the an upside down backward impression of the logo i made with blutack, i didnt want to be staring at the front door lock of a gov building especially since there was a seurity guard beside me, i think the logo said MG, but was also possibly GM or WG or GW, it looked a little like the warner brothers logo

The third i think was an oval cylinder and i think was called Orion, but i couldnt find anything online about Orion brand locks.

Oh yeh since i live in Ireland these are probabaly European manufacturers.

..................................................................................................................................................

I have since found out that the the second one is definatly MG and that Orion are a compant that make keys, but i dont know about locks.
I'll put a link to the threds in the other forums in case you guys want to see the responses there.

I had that exactly same Orion lock on my shops front. So did every other shop next to me. Its really easy to pick and had no securitypins. After a renovation they put these cheap euros to the metal curtains that we close for night. Even the jewelry store had it. When they copied their keys I pointed out the insecurity of the lock and lack of keycontrol to them. The keyblank is JMA´s TE-8I. Next day they canced locks for us.
Now we have Kaba expert. :D
