Thank you, No I haven't made one for a mortise, I don't have one. This is only my second one that I have done. I just wish locks were cheaper so I could get a huge range of differnt locks to cut open.
Sorry my responses have been slow, work has been busy lately.

Sorry to completely rain on your parade, but OH MY GOD! DID YOU CUT THAT WITH THE PARTS STILL IN THERE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!

You are crazy. Making your cutters go through brass & hardened boron/steel at the same time is asking for trouble and possibly some missing eye balls. If your cutter caught one of those springs you would damage the cutter, the lock, and yourself.

My padlock dismantling tutorial can be found below. Also an example of my cutaway pad. I know it's exciting to have use of a mill, but safety should always come first.

Thank you for your concern and the tutorials, you did a really nice job on your cutout.
It may not look it from the pictures but I did take some precautions while cutting it.
The CC bit I was using is for cutting stainless steel, I knew the shackle was going to be cut so that is why I went with a SS cutter, I was also careful and did all the cutting by hand and went very slow before I got to the shackles depth only taking .01" off a pass, and I was also wearing safety glasses.

But the locking bars... they are loose in the tube as the cutter passes them. It will be decking the sharpness of your cutter instantly. The first rule of machining is to make sure all surfaces/parts are viced and blocked appropriately.

Please reconsider changing your practices about dismantling. If you need help getting a certain lock apart completely, PM me.
