Plastic Lock?!

Actually that lock is quite impressive. Think about it. With all those cheap-donkeyed parts and lousy engineering, the fact that it ever work in any way, shape or form is amazing! Well you know what they say about bumble bees. Aerodynamically, it is impossible for them to fly. Just don't tell that to a bumble bee. First of all, it won't understand you and secondly it will just fly away.

I agree, a lock like this deserves praise. The fact that someone actually manufactered something like this and succeeded in selling it is beyond impressive. I'm surprised the pins are made out of metal.

There safety locks for lock out tag out loto
There mostly for show. They go on disconnects and
And anywhere u can shut the power off to a machine or motor
Or limit switch ect.. The problem is If u use a real lock and the guy has an accident
Or gets sick or whatever and he leaves plastic is alot easier
And less likely to damage the breakers or disconnects if there plastic
The master lock safety lock is all plastic w a metal core it's a mother f***er to pick

How is it a master lock safety series Lockout/Tagout ? This rim cyld was made 30 years ago or better and not a padlock. But you have to admit it is a conversation piece. Probably by Taylor or Ilco could be anybodies guess.

I like the way it just keeps getting better the more you look into it. Was cracking me up imagining the look on your face as it kept revealing it's outstanding quality to you as you disassemble it.

You found a diamond in the rough you better mount that puppy on a plaque so you can admire craftsmanship beyond words for years to come.

I suppose you guys are right...I guess it is pretty cool that it works at all being what it is. And especially for how old it is. It is one crazy little lock; I'll definitely hold onto this one for awhile.
It almost makes me wunna take it into one of the local locksmith shops and ask them if they could cut a key for it...just to see the look on their faces. Then again, they may not bat an eye and just cut me a key.
Just scored a new lock to play with...A Russwin mortise lock from 1935. Havent got to play with it yet but it looks pretty cool. Looking into the keyway, you can see that it has little ball bearings on the bottom of the key pins. I guess its to prevent wear on the key.
