And please understand I'm not arguing about the rules. I accept and respect them as they are, they are very reasonable. I'm just thinking whether there is also a legal ground apart from the ethical one. I actually very much agree about strictly not helping anyone who we suspect to be up to no good.

ARF-GEF,

Please let forum management worry about the laws (and forum rules), no need to ask fellow members for legal advice, it honestly isn't your place.

When you guys talk about things on the forum, whatever you say has no recourse for you, but it does for the people who host the site or own or it manage it. Just getting sued or threatened to be for something is a total hassle, nobody is saying this place is getting shut down or sued, but nobody here needs to go through that sort of hassle, and we manage the forum to our liking.

This is not a democracy, it is a privately owned forum. If someone is not happy with what can or cannot be discussed, or what the current rules are for participating in the Advanced areas, they are free to not be a member, it isn't up for debate or discussion. We are not here to argue some philosophical viewpoints on what is legal or what information is more harmful or how information should be free, etc, etc. How others on the web choose to run their sites about what society considers questionable topics is entirely up to them.

If you're here, be here to participate in hobby lockpicking, not nitpicking how this forum is set up, what the lay out is, what the categories are, or what the rules are.
