Most of my lock collection

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Most of my lock collection

Postby GWiens2001 » 21 Nov 2012 19:13

Several people here have asked about my lock collection. Some of my collection is with other people... a couple of practice boards, some padlocks on loan to friends who are learning to pick, a Commando on loan to a lockie friend, and so forth. But here is a majority of them.

First, deadbolts, mortices, wafers, camlocks, etcetera. Too many to take individual pics without making this post ridiculously long. If there is interest, let me know and I'll add them.

Next up are the padlocks. First a family shot:

A couple of random locks:

And the infamous "Naughty Box"

Disc detainer locks, mostly from a friend here.

ASSA Twins, one with key, one I am making a blank for, then a key from the blank. And two ASSA Scandanavian cylinders from Zeepia!

Kaba 8 and a Mul-T-Lock classic. Don't have a key to the MTL, and the only place in town that can rekey it refuses to rekey a lock they did not sell, then refused to sell me a new mortice MTL unless I also paid them to install it at my house. So if any of you can rekey it (or at least try), please PM me!

Sargent Keso and a TuBar.

OK, these tubular locks do not belong in the naughty box, as have picked them numerous times. But here they are:

And finally, my Medeco locks. Bottom right is the Biaxial IC that I just turned into a practice lock yesterday along with the current "keys" Top left is an original IC, second down on left is original 4 pin cam lock, below that is a 6 pin Biaxial cam lock, top right is 5 pin KIK Biaxial for which I have a restricted blank, and below that is a 6 pin KIK Biaxial.

Thanks, Squelchtone. :D

This does not, of course, include my son's lock collection. He wanted me to mention that. 8)

Also, with one exception, everything in the third row has impressioned keys, and 2 of the three American locks with Best cores have impressioned change keys. STILL have not succeeded in making a control key for them.

Nice collection my friend. About the mtl you'd like to rekey, it's easy! Unscrew the cam and shim it from behind

Cheers :)

Very nice. I would not mind seeing some up-close pics of the mortise cylinders etc.
If you want some Sargents or Corbins to mess around with, let me know (can't tell what all you have!)

Well, Jeff, finally got off my duff and took the pictures of the deadbolts/mortices/etcetera. Thanks for pestering me, I needed it!

As I mentioned before, many of these came from an eBay purchase from the kids of a late locksmith, so are in rough shape. Working my way through impressioning keys for the ones without keys. Have picked them all, though a few I had to get the corrosion broken loose first! You will see those ones.

Why are some displayed on a couple of pieces of wood? Because they have tailpieces attached, and so would not sit face up.

In no particular order:

1 Ideal Security, 1 Keil, and 2 S. Parker locks
Image
2 Arrow, 2 no name
Image
2 Eagle, 1 Norwood, 1 Sears
Image
2 Honda ignition locks (1 complete ignition assembly, one with just the cylinder), 1 Honda door lock.
Image
2 Lockwood, 1 Tubelite with lockwood key
Image
2 Schlage handlesets
Image
3 Schlage LFIC
Image
2 USPS mailbox locks
Image
3 Kwiksets that came on my house... and were quickly removed. :?
Image
11 Yale locks.
Image
Ace Hardware with Kwikset keyway, 1 Kwikset, 1 Arrow, 2 Weiser
Image
CAS double cylinder dimple lock
Image
1 Defiant, 3 Lori
Image
Roto, Yale, ERA and no name half european profile cylinders
Image
10 ILCO
Image

Image

Image
4 no name cylinders
Image
1 Keil, 1 Elgin
Image
Schlage KIK cylinders, both 5 and 6 pin versions
Image
1 Russwin, 1 Welch, and hey Jeff - a Sargent!
Image
And a final poke to Jeff - another Sargent KIK cylinder
Image

Just found a few more, but nothing worth taking pics of. Getting some in the mail soon that will be worth the pics, though!
