Help with dismantling high security lock

Hey guys,
Just a few questions on dismantling so I can re-pin the lock, I got this super cool lock today from a locksmiths who said the owner was changing there locks in the school due to people getting a key or whatever. It's a Lockwood generation 6 (6pins) and by the look of the keyway it has a tricky keyway, I can't get my standard hook or diamond in it nor my tension wrench. I've taken it out my screwing the nut on the hole under the shackle and get the core out, But trying to pick it is a pain. Is there another way to get to the point to dismantle it?

Hey Onz, I know lockwood have pretty tight tolerances. This is why you were not able to shim it from the back. Unfortunately this is the only way to disassemble the lock if you don't have the key and are not able to pick it.
What did you use to try shimming it? I suggest a thin piece of metal you find inside anti shoplifting tags. You may want to lubricate the lock with something like wd40 to help inserting the shim.

First used Coke can since I already have shims out of them, But then went on to what you suggested but it's crazy tight.

Well, I suggest you leave this lock in a drawer for now. It would be a shame to ruin suck a nice lock while trying to disassemble it. Practice with easier locks and try it from time to time to see if you're ready to pick it.

The Coke can will have a thickness of about .004". The shims inside the security tags is about .001". Lots more space. You also need to lift the pins when trying to insert the shims.

Just looked up 'shimming a cylinder'... I had no idea that could be done! Really cool.

That's one nasty looking keyway for sure.
