Keep breaking my ACE 2 locks

So I have gotten into picking tubular locks by hand with a simple tension tool and a bobby pin to press the pins to the shear line. Much more fun than using a regular tubular lock pick.

I own 5 tubular locks. Three of which are cheap ones with standard springs of the same strength. The other two are Ace 2 chicago locks.

With both ACE 2 locks it was only a matter of days before I appear to have busted a pin in each one. The busted pin looses all springiness and simple moves passively under the influence of gravity.

I assume I must be pressing too hard on these pins and that this is causing the spring to break. I have not had this problem with my cheap ones however.

Maybe I am pressing extra hard on the pins that have stronger springs and just going overboard?

Anyone else ever had this problem?

You may check to make sure the driver pins are not getting stuck in the channel/bible.. Also, depending on how much free movement you have in the keys pins .. you can smash the springs to a point where they are not long enough anymore... Best thing to do is if you have a key take the lock apart and see what is going on.
