That's true, but the issue with my lock stems from the door not wanting to open, sans key. Here is video evidence that suggest once I got everything disassembled, the key operation worked fine. Note: Please excuse the poor audio issues, I was recording from a cellphone on five minutes notice.





Also for the record, my keys were all Axxess+ 66 keys.

If the door doesn't want to open that sounds like a fault in Your lockset, or in the deadlatch or even in the timing of Your lock.
Far as Axxess keys go, hardware stores make the worst keys, for one they often don't understand how the key blank goes into
the machine and for another, they don't understand how to adjust a key machine when it goes out of adjustment. They also
don't understand how to select the correct key. For example, my local big box hardware store recently called me and let me know they wanted me to bring them
some of my business cards, so they could refer me. While I was there, dropping off the cards one of the guys wanted to know why they are having soo much trouble
making postal keys (for rural boxes) that work. I showed them two National postal box keys that are similar. This guy was able to force both into his key identifier, but
only one of the keys fit correctly, which means the key he forces in will never work, as he will be cutting it on the wrong blank. They did not stock the correct key and
their key identifier did not support the correct key blank, so no matter what, many of the keys they cut will be wrong, at least for this application...

So, it's entirely possible that the keys that I have could fit into one system (because on the Defiant label it says that it is compatible with KW1 keys), but for whatever reason when Home Depot cut the keys for my lock, it won't work properly because the machine that made them is out of adjustment? I can buy that.

I had wished, on the other hand, that I had held off on disassembly of the main body to show what was really going on with that lock. That would have cleared a lot of things up with my situation.
