yale vs sargent

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

yale vs sargent

Which off the two would you consider rarer and or cooler. A bicentric yale padlock or a master ring sargent padlock?

Hi Nick,

I see the Yale Bicentric padlocks for sale on eBay all the time, whereas, I've only seen two Sargent dual shearline padlocks. So if evaluating by frequency the Sargent seems to be less prevalent. But, either choice go for a fair amount of money though with working keys - the Yale anywhere from $85 if you're lucky to $150, versus 75$ and up for the Sargent.

This is based on eBay experience only as I've never owned either lock.

There's also a Yale bicentric rim cylinder for sale at the moment:

You are probably drooling over this, as I am - ONLY 1 HOUR LEFT - DUAL SHEARLINES PADLOCK:

Cheers and good luck on your bicentric quest,

Yeah, I am drooling. When I posted this there was a yale padlock up, didnt win that auction. It went for $88. I won the sargent for more than I should have paid, but I have really wanted one of these.

I would be all over that yale you saw if it was a mortise instead of a rim cylinder.
