Master Lock M175 High Security?

Postby skygear » 22 Oct 2011 1:15

I was at the local lock shop, and I saw the NEW AND IMPROVED M175- All they had was 1 left and wouldn't let me 'tinker' with it.

Heres the question- Is it the same exploit/ bypass as the older body style? I purchased 2 off ebay and I will do a cut out on one and add the other to my collection.

I found one similar -

and there official video -

I did do a forum search first...

All they did was put a block plate in to deny the bypass tool. Knowing many people use these locks to secure valuables, I'm not at liberty to say how to bypass the new model. Get one, and cut it apart or try to bypass it using different methods. It is bypassable, as is every lock by nature. Half the fun is in learning how to do it. Have fun.

I'm glad all our forums and youtube videos are making the lock makers actually improve their 20 year old designs. =)

Absolutely. I used the 175 for the last 6 years to secure my storage units, and the day that I found the youtube video about the bypass, I switched to best sfic padlocks. As with all locks, there's still holes, but i like it a lot better than the 175's, plus they're all easily keyed, so when I fire someone I can just repin cores at home and take them out and swap them out in minutes.

I did order 2 of them. and they will be here from california wednesday according to the person who shipped them. I am sure the bypass is very similar to the old method. I hadn't used that method in all the videos anyway. I prefer to use broken picks that I have taken to a grinder to thin them out and go through the combination wheels. Either the 2nd or 3rd (i prefer the 3rd).

No problem posting up a video once they are in house. I mean theres only so many ways to bypass a M175 combination lock.

Any one have any updates? I got one from my shop (i work at a local locksmith) and havent really had time to tinker... it could probably be shimmed but is there any way to bypass? I tried the old bypass for a few minutes but have been way to busy to mess around with it

I have one myself that my friend loaned me, he has forgotten the combination but it's open. I figured it would be a great opportunity to try out my Sparrows shank but I really don't know if I am putting it in the right place because I don't really feel anything as I rotate the combinations. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or can I even feel it when it's already open, does it need to be pulled up or set down as far as it can go on side or front? I tried searching but to no avail.
