With this pic you can see its a cup like Extension with a regular screwdriver blade inside that's what grabs the Key In Knob (K.I.K.) Cylinder.

Good idea. These things are old enough that they're " pre-internet search " relevant. So, yeah. lol.

Really surprised they are going that cheap. Guess it's cause people can't find the parts for them.

LockPickingLawyer got back with me tonight. He's out of town right now, but he said when he gets back, he will get me the measurements for that part. When I get them, I will post them on here so that they're available for everyone.

Gday ppi,

I can confirm that a Medeco KIK will fit just nicely in the 29! :)

Image

Image

I had to shorten the KIK tailpiece, and I did have to use the cylinder extender, as its essential to push / pull the locking pawls.

Here it is assembled.

Image

And here it is broken apart. This shot gives you and idea on how long to make the tailpiece. I also had to slim the tail slightly to fit into the extender, IIRC.

Image

Hope you can find the extender, but here are the measurements if you decide to try and improvise one. All measurements in mm, apologies for the shitty graphics, I couldnt figure out the Photoshop line tool, so I reverted to my inner 12yo and used MS Paint!

Hope these help, let me know if you require more measurements. I personally think you could knock one of these up by cutting 2 of the winged parts and soldering them either side of the tailpiece.

I think you could use a 'wing nut' to make those wings, you'd need to file out a slot inside on
the threads for the cylinder tailpiece to enter, wouldn't take too long to do with a grinder on the ears
and a mini flat file, using the right diameter of nut Might hafta push the wings up higher with a spacer
or some washers

I was wrong on my earlier post, the cylinder adapter isn't plastic, it's pot metal

I'd make one out of 5/8" aluminum stock. No mill or lathe required.

Or out of aluminum. It would probably be stronger than the zinc, and easier to find.

The original is steel don’t think aluminum or zinc would be strong enough to turn the steel locking paws in side the lock.
and if it was don't think they'd last very long from wear ?

Was not sure, but figured aluminum would be stronger than zinc if someone were to try casting.

If someone can 3d print these, I can cast them in brass or other alloys. My steel melting furnace isnt done yet, but I can melt copper, brass, and aluminum without issue currently. I've also experimented with some alloys that are quite strong that would be pretty good, too.I am curious about this since I too have a Master 29 that I would really like to get going again. Unfortunately, I do not have access to a 3d printer and am NOT good with CAD. :)

Cheers!
