Can anyone identify this lock?

Postby Patrickd7 » 1 May 2021 2:12

Hi guys

I’ve just moved into a flat with a balcony door. The problem is, the handle doesn’t turn and (AFAIK) there’s no keyhole?

It’s probably very simple but the estate agent is being an “estate agent” as usual, and there’s limited markings on the lock itself.

I remember when viewing the place the lady showing me did it relatively quickly. There’s obviously a method to it but I just can’t figure it out. Any tips from the pros?

My guess is that you turn the handle while pushing up or down on the little thing sticking out above the handle.

a quick Google search says this is a Hoppe K-14, K-26, K-34 handtagsspärr, perhaps a child proof lock to make sure a child does not fall from a balcony?

it appears to be a product from 2007 which is discontinued now.

push up on the button stamped K-14 to turn the handle. or contact Hoppe support.

The Google-Fu is strong with Squelchtone! He is called Master Findsum Lockstuff.
