In some parts of the world, all bit keys are commonly called 'skeleton keys'. The vast majority of bit keys are NOT skeleton keys, they have been cut to fit a particular lock. Whilst the general public is unlikely to use correct terms for a technical subject, those who profess an interest in locks might like to learn what skeleton keys actually are.
Goaded by a video screaming '5 skeleton keys that open ALL warded locks', I have written a few pages describing what skeleton keys actually are, and are not.
