My dremel went through this thing like butter so this was surprisingly easy to make. An interesting thing I learned while making this is that without springs or a spring cover, these locks will open by just turning them upside down. I think they might be vulnerable to a comb attack.

That's funny. Odds are, however, the springs won't be compressed enough, and a comb attack wouldn't work.

I think the issue is more the spring cover than the springs. The springs are the egg shaped ones that are ment to go flat so I doubt that they would cause very much of a problem. With the spring cover on it keeps the pins from going the last .25 mm or so needed to clear the sidebar. I think since the brass is soft, that it might be possible to force the pins into it and deform it enough to allow the pins to clear the sidebar. I'll try and make a comb pick for it and test it out.

they actually have some models that comb attacks work on. But to my knowledge those locks are pretty old

Ok, i googled this first before I asked. Whats a comb pick? easy to make?

No cam locks are made of anything special.. all should be easily cut through.

I was going to make a cutaway of a medeco cam, but it cost me to much and i wanted to use it for something instead


What cutting wheel did you use on your dremel?

I used the reinforced fiberglass ones. Run a search for comb picks in this site's search tool. It should come back with some topics that have explanations and pictures.
