"TEFF" padlocks and "Tool Bench" padlock

Postby Guesss » 23 Feb 2005 1:40

I went to the dollar store (I know bad place to start recon on locks but a broke man has to start somewhere) and i found out some stuff actually..

The "TUFF" (which is the brand name) lock which said rigth on the box that it was "hardened steel" and "pin tumbler" well the steel may have been right but the pin tumbler was a bunch of bull cause i just stuck my tension wrench in there the long way and turned it without a key no picking or anything. It doesn't say the brand on the lock but i am telling everyone don't over don't ever overlook the obvious. don't ever pick something unless you need to.

and the "Tool Bench" lock...

have the right tool for the job cause it had hard tension in the lock and the hole was so small the tension wrench that i had wouldn't fit and allow for me to use the picks at the same time. So i have yet to pick this lock but hey guess what.. I shimed it :D Like i sad before don't over look the obvious. I do want to pick the lock just for practice but at the same time i am excited that i can open it none the less.

Just because picking is an art doesn't mean it has to be complicated. Look for the easy answer. If there isn't one then pick away.

Lovin to learn...

sounds like some crappy locks.

If tension wrench doesn't fit, you must acquit, or just get/make a smaller one...
