Brinks Padlock

Postby winston84 » 22 Mar 2005 11:44

I'm having trouble picking a laminated padlock by Brinks. It's 44 mm, I'm
not quite sure what the product number is but the US patent number is
3979931, UK: 1516268. If more info's needed (I'm assuming so) I can get it in about 5 hours.
I'm wondering about any security pins, spool, etc. Or anything else helpful. I've tried using about a dozen picks, with light, to medium tension.
thanks.

looks like this:

I have one of these... it is pretty easy to pick. Is the keyway spring loaded? If it is, use just enough tension to rotate the keyway until it stops for the first pin and then lighten up for the others.

yeah i agree with zekeo, put just enough tension on the wrench to hold the first pin in, move the to second one and raise it then add more tention. ive picked a similar locks to this using raking so id probably try that and see if i can set any pins before goin individual pin picking

Picks like most master locks, and it uses an m1 key blank, so its just a knock off. Light tension, then set the last pin, and push down on the others with the body of the pick, and it should turn.
