Where to get cylinder springs in the UK?

Postby Custom24 » 9 May 2005 11:40

Hi
Does anyone know where I could pick up a few springs for my dismantled cylinder lock (the front door single plug Yale type)? I am living in the UK. I found some mail order web sites, some specialising in compression springs, others just general mechanical stuff, but they are quite expensive, and there is normally a minimum order, so I would have to order 100 springs or something.

Somewhere I could walk into on the high street would be ideal, but if anyone has used an Internet site which has given good results, that would be OK too.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Where abouts in the uk are you ? Many locksmiths have old cylinders lying around that can be used as donors for parts.

Yes I will try that. I am living near Oxford, but I will try a yellow pages search.
Thanks

Most locksmiths have plenty kicking around from keying alike / master keying. If you are really stuck pm me and i'll post some.
