Hi,

Think it could be a Bramah style lock. Could be wrong? Have a look at http://www.chez.com/montmartre/pompe.html

Cheers

Compare the picture you posted with the ones on next link:

http://www.crypto.com/photos/misc/bramah/

If they are not the same kind of lock they look pretty similar.

Regards.

Looks like theres some kind of marking on the center post. Can you tell us what that would be? What does this lock secure, and in what country?

The lock is on a cablevision box on the side of my house in Canada. I don't want to steal the signal, but I want to combine it with my satellite signal. I would also like to know if there is a pick available.

After comparing it to Bramah pictures from the above link, it does not appear to be this type of lock.

The nix pix

Postby raimundo » 27 Jun 2005 8:06

the lock in the original photo is a 'nix pix', I have one on a little key box somewhere, I was going to build a pick for it, but never quite got around to it, though I did find some materials that would work. The lock can be recombinated, and the key also can be recombinated, the key has 6 sliders that can be rearranged for the new combination, the lock is recombinated by changeing the locations of the different pins. then the key is dissasembled and made to fit then reassembled. I have not found much information on this lock on google when I was looking for it. Notice how I'm visiting the earliest threads on the site to find this stuff :P

Ahh, raimundo you really should get yourself a draft like this:
I,...
( )...have been making picks for this type of lock all the time, they are called bogota-rake and rock/rake like hell.
( )...am currently working on a pick for this type of lock.
( )...have been thinking about making a pick for this type of lock, but then a made one for <insert type of lock here>
( )...am currently investigating/thinking about how to create a pick for this

just kidding, I really enjoy that spirit. That's an interesting lock btw. If someone has some more pictures I'd be glad to see them.
