Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Odd Door Lock

Postby Fallen » 28 Jul 2005 8:20

There is a door lock I decided to try just a simple internal room door handel lock. Its weird I seem to get it because the lock moves I think about 90 degrees but the knob its self wont turn. The pins i believe are just cylinder pins. I would give a name and such but it doesnt have one on it. (If this doesnt make sense i just got back from delevering papers and will check in later)

1. Welcome, read the rules, use the search function before creating a new thread, your question may have been answer. Happy reading (alot of it) and Happy Picking!

2. The details are alittle vague and a picture would help alot.

Well I have been reading here for a while i would have searched but dont know what to search for. Well I dont have a cam to take pics so ill try to better describe it. The handel has a inner circle which is the lock then an outer part which is the handel. The lock its self will turn as though there is a key in it but only go 90 degrees clockwise then stops and it seems all the pins are still in line but it wont move farther and the door knob is still locked. Hope that helps.

Take a look at :-

http://www.kwikset.com
http://www.schlage.com

and see if you can find something that looks like the knob you have. Then either post a small picture here or a link to the manufacturers website.

There are many other manufacturers out on the internet, so take a look at them and see if you can give us more information to work with.
