Just raked open 5 pin Kwikset

Hello everyone, just received my 20 piece southord set from lockpickshop.com. I just raked open the kwikset i have but i still cant pick it by using a pick and individually set the pins.
Im taking my ball and gonig home skip!

Congrats, but you may want to learn single-pin picking if you want to progress :wink:

Yea but picking it is giving me a hard time. Tonight im going to just spend some good time and concentrate a little more.

Let me give you a good tip on kwikset locks. I find them FAR easier to pick when turning to the right rather than turning to the left. (20-30 sec differece for me). Once you have picked it, use a plug spinner to turn the plug to the left which will unlock the lock. If you cannot single pick the kwikset lock even when turning the plug to the right, I would suggest practicing on a simple wafer lock like you would find on a desk drawer.

No need for a plug spinner. Kwickset is one of the easiest locks to go with. Just practice and have patience. Buying a plug spinner for a kwickset is a waste of money.

I know it, but I was saying that if he wanted to get a glimpse of what single pin picking is all about, he should pick while turning the plug to the right. The thing about the plug spinner was just to tell him about them.
