Tri-Circle 265 Pinning

Postby ThE_MasteR » 5 Nov 2005 13:49

Today I grinded down the 265 that my locksmith gave me, and I found to my suprise, a 6-pin cylinder, and all the drivers were security pins

Now I know why I couldn't pick this one

I will post some pictures of the lock with all the channels showing and all the pins.

<gasp>

You ground down a lock BEFORE you were able to pick it??? Seems like a waste, and a crying shame to me. :?

Yah I know I coulnd't help it. I was all rusted full of guck in it, I WD40'd it, and the pins would still stick, so I said the hell with it. I took out everything and cleaned it nice and good, I can almost see myself on the lock when I look at it. I lapped it so it has a nice finish now, and cleaned all the interior with Q-Tips and WD-40, watered it inside and I air-compressed it. I'll try putting back the pins, and picking it.

hmm... absolutely no shame in not being able to pick it... next to Papaiz the most annoying thing I have found to pick.

if you went to the trouble of cutting it down, then why didn't you make a cut-away? helps a lot.

Tricircle are stupidly annoying, if not only because the insides are so poorly made - the key has failed to open my lock on several occaisions. when you pick it, and set all the pins the cylinder might not turn.

if you want to open them reliably just use a lot of tension, and rake at it with a half-diamond - opened one of these just ONCE! pin-by-pin, and doubt I could do it again any time soon.

bloody evil lock :x

look forward to seeing the inside of this monster of a lock once and for all...

I can still make a cutaway of it if I wanted to, which I might actually do one day soon.

Master iv'e been trying to pick this padlock still and i think the 1st pin to bind is a mushroom pin cause it feels binded when the wrench isnt in.

Jason, if you're getting angry, either put it away for a while and go back to it or, better yet, put it away for even longer and find an easier lock to work on.

When I stated out I broke a pick tip, I was trying to hard and trying on locks that were out of my filed at that time, what digital_blue said is a good idea.

that's why the methord of removing pins and working up is the best, because it gives yu confidence, and will put you a ease when you try harder locks later on.
