for a long time abus was the maker of these locks, now they are made in china with many brand names, I have one that was pinched off a storage locker, brand name "minni storage" or something like that, the storage locker had such a bolt mech that there was no room to put the pincher on so the guy actually cut through the clam shell on both ends of the exposed shacke, and on through the shackle, It musta been real hard to do, but this guy who gave it to me is big.

I see these clones and Abuses all over the place here in the city... and they both share the same fate... a 5/16" hole right through the brass keyway, or become twisted junk from a long pipe(stilton for you UK'ers) wrench. Abus is junk around here. Everyone knows those little roundies can be cut right through or drilled through. So what does every shop/business owner do— uses 2-4 of them to secure things. It's all about increasing a thief's time to cut that secures, not the actual make of the lock per se.... 1 $100 lock OR 4 $15 locks? Which is going to dissuade someone in a hurry?
BTW--- VERY nice cut-outs (lol sorry) I'm glad a few folks still make break down diagrams. Easier to see why these locks are very insecure.

No security pins is a bit weird for ABUS, especially since these disc locks are used by jewelery stores to fence up their windows. Even the regular padlocks have spool pins, would have at least expected those or mushroom / serrated pins in these locks. Wonder why they don't do that....

Wow, great pics... I'm surprised it doesn't have any safety pins...

Okay, guys.
Let's just be clear that this is NOT an Abus lock. It's a knockoff.
That's why there are no security pins. Abus makes good locks, and nearly always includes at least on security pin in their tumbler systems. This lock, being a knockoff, does NOT have security pins. Hope that clarifies. Haha
Also, thanks tons for putting up these pictures! I have an imitation Abus made by Brinks which actually contains a single spool in the second pin stack. It's a fun little lock to pick.
There is no means by which I can be removed from the love of God. For this, I am indescribably glad.

How long does it take you to pick, what "method" do you use, and what pick do you use for it? Thx.
