Considering their application, I'd guess that they would specifically not want to have a restricted keyblank.

I don't see how this would help - they have a restricted keyway, so I buy some locks with keys and file or cut them down. so what :) It would help if they don't sell keys with this profile, but that's kind of counterproductive ;)
