I hope it's as good as digital_blue's single pin picking tutorial

OH MY GOD! I can't believe I made that mistake  There is a guy on another forum I was just on prior to posting that whose nick is "dimension"!

My apologies digital_blue!!!

It was a simple typo/brain-fart :D

Please forgive my double post - I hit the reply button on the first page before I realized that I had already replied to the post.

I thought I had messed up again!

If anyone feels like waving their magic wand and deleting this post and its immediate predecessor, I would have exactly ZERO objections.

For want of an edit button the kingdom was lost.....

I had the same experience as Darrell and FFVision. I purchased my first practice lock thinking it wouldn't have security pins since it was the cheapest in the store, but that wasn't the case. On top of having 3 spools and 1 serated, the last lower pin ( I forgot the proper terminology) was probably the highest possible bitting therefore the spring rarely exerted any force on the pin preventing me from feeling it ( my hook pick wasn't high enough.) All this caused alot of confusion ( I would sometimes feel the retaining pin thinking it was the 4th pin that was binding because of 2 much tension.) The mistery was finaly solved when I took a hacksaw to it to make a crappy cut-away.

The lock was a Garison ( I don't know the model number) and judging by another thread on here it seems to be equivalent to a master 141.
