So you didnt get the ABUS up as your first lock?

Ah - you must be swedish! (faa upp). Most of those abus lock pins are spool shaped. Usually one plain and the rest spools.

and the locks that are repinable, that are often found on houses, costs a small fortune.. and i would be kinda sad if i destoyed it the first thing i did :P

The 66/40 can not be repinned. it uses 5 pin stacks of wich 2 have anti pick pins, The spool pin is most common. If you tried some more raking/picking it will pop open. look at the key and see if there is a pin that needs to be lifted extra high, thats probably the one you have failed to set.
Have fun

no problem.
About the cylinders you were talking about, they don't have to cost a fortune.
laskompaniet.se has a Gege 225 cyl for 295 SEK (~45 USD), you could reconfigure that and use it as a practise cylinder. Or the ASSA 701 cylinder for 385 SEK. (~60 USD) But I warn you, these cyls are quite tricky to pick, even if you reduce the pin stacks to only 4. If I was in your shoes, I would probably start with picking it with only 3 pin stacks. These cylinders are of high quality and have high manufacturing tolerances, the spring tension is also quite high. That makes them very pick resistant

Kind of an old thread to resuscitate, but I have one of these (bought in 2002 in a random shop in Bruxelles, Belgium). Had 4 spools and one driver with two serrations. None of my wrenches fit well in it. The small southord would jam in the bottom of the keyway and the big wouldn't fit.

Image (not the pins are numbered from the bow and the key reversed from the pins as shown; ignore the notch...):

Im interested in the ignore notch, you mean the one in the brass body near the locking dogs? just tell me what the thinking there was and then I'll start ignoring as requested.

I don't have a drill press so my initial thought was to file through until I can punch the pin loose. Not my finest work ;-). Took a while with 6" and 8" mill bastards. When I got to the notch depth, I managed to get the pin to move in a bit and then I drilled it out with a hand drill. The pin caps I could punch in slightly and drill out easily.

So flag the ignore notch as "destructive disassembly" with primitive tools.
