you can still order them? please god provide me with the part number. My medeco dealer was told my medeco that since these are a 02 keyway (military) they were not authorized to order them from Medeco. Can I order them in 00 ?

I do not know if the replacement cylinders are available in a military keyway or not. I have been ordering them on our keyway. You can special order the extra shoulder length blanks or just cut back a normal blank to fit the padlock wards after keying the cylinder and cutting all the keys. The box lable info is also in all their current catalogs and refers to the padlock.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.

Thanks Squelch for that close up and confirming my thoughts. I deal with a lot of Medeco, and haven't seen that type of plug end before. Thanks!

In early days, the patent(s) was likely still active. As long as the key doesn't currently go to DoD or Postal Service locks and there is no active patent on the key, you can duplicate it without getting in trouble.

Medeco dealers however can not. They're still expected to follow Medeco's own policies on key control on restricted blanks.

Ilco doesn't like to make blanks that don't have a significant market so you won't find it from them. You'll have to find a company who specializes in making duplicate blanks in a small batch or make them yourself.
