I think there's some confusion. It's not that I actually loose my key constantly, although I have once. It's that I lock myself out of my room too often and would rather be able to pick my way in and retrieve my key on those occasions rather than pay $25 and wait an hour to have my door opened for me.

Solomon: I completely understand what you are saying, and I agree. Obviously I am new to lp1o1 and I did not understand the culture. I am going to try and act accordingly in the future. Hopefully this blemish will not impede me further on this forum because although I would like to be able to pick open my door lock today, ultimately I am more interested in learning and enjoying locksport in a way that others are comfortable with.

Locksmitharmy and UEDan, thank you for your empathy and understanding, being forgetful is embarrassing enough around my friends, not to mention people whom I ask for help.

It's all good. I still think you should keep it on your belt though, I mean once you unlock the door and go into your room you just put it on your belt instead of hoofing it somewhere. That way if you go out and close the door behind you, bam! It's right there. Like squelchtone said, if you keep leaving your key behind, how are you gonna keep your picks on you?

That's actually pretty cool. How did you install that?

like it said on the box... only the bolt was too long so I had to use the original bolt... because i used the original bolt I had to put the original cylinder on there... so i would have the same tailpiece... then add a touch of foam sealant so it wouldnt leak(because it didnt fit exactly right lol)

it worked even with all the parts switched around...
she uses the combo, i still use the lock. cause after 8 months away i wont remember the combo lol...

Sounds like you're in your dorm when this happens, I'm guessing you've already though of a door wedge,... but for some strange reason decided not to am I right?

Do not pick locks in use, do not pick locks you don't own. Oh and did someone already mention the fact it is high security as well?

I can guarantee you no one will help you with this, so please stop asking about this type of lock. Go buy a master lock # 3, or a Kwikset, and start picking that.
