Anyone any pictures of Canadian Mailbox locks (new & old)?

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

The Australian box looks tougher than the Canadian ones - and in MacGyver's photo there's one that's been bashed in.

More interesting, I thought, was that the post was still delivered to the box with the missing door. Perhaps it was junk mail.

Cheers...

Well, that's sort of the point: this was a thread about Canadian mailbox locks... which is why I was a bit puzzled by the need for you to be so condescending (and, quite frankly, rude) to the guy who actually took the time to take and post a photo?

I agree- someone really needs to relax and realize they do not know all, nor was this thread about US locks in the first place.

Also, FYI- after reading that article, they are discussing mailbox drop offs, not the place where homeowners pick up their mail. (hence the statement people should bring their mail directly to a post office location..) I do agree- both self serve drop off boxes (locations) and residential pick up locations are not overly secure.. I am glad they are rolling out a new system.

LOL...

Most of the pictures he took were irrelevant...

In only TWO of the pictures can you see the master access Abloy lock cylinder looking all shiny and new with all the scratch marks on the brown painted metal around it from the near daily use of the lock to open the cluster boxes to deliver the mails...

As far as similarities between the US and Canada mail systems you will find that they are more alike than they are different... There are only a small number of ways to efficiently run a mass distribution system based on the lowest postage rate possible...
