@yono:

One of the most comprehensive and FREE manuals I have come across covering a few different ways to master key the same locks with different bitting (depth) systems was produced by Corbin-Russwin...

<< External link to download file: CR_CylinderManual.pdf >>

It covers the differences between single-step progression keying systems versus two-step progression... How to "divide the key" to create the hierarchy of your master key system... It also explains the mathematics of master keying very well...

Definitely worth reading to refresh yourself on the basics of masterkeying even if you aren't using Corbin-Russwin products... It is FREE -- I have a couple of books on the subject that cost between $40 and $60 each, which get very technical about the subject which might be a little intense for someone unfamiliar with the topic... Yono, I know you aren't a beginner with locks, but it sounds like you haven't created many keying systems from scratch before, let me know if you have any additional questions after checking out the CR Cylinder Manual...

thank you so much evan. that was a real eye opener book for me. honestly, i do some small time masterkeying in residences involvilng 30 to 40 rooms in my free time. they are simple. But i never thought of a grand job in masterkeying will come along. believe me..i did only absorbed the Three level masterkeying you posted when i arrange the key code, write it down and study as you did explain. it was gold to my brain. and the book you just posted to download, is much than a thanks can say. we have corbin /Russwin here in the early days (before Medeco was introduced) a i havent got a clue. in its masterkeying process. now , they are changing the whole BIG facilities here to brand new, and these where i thought of Oh, i should learn and understand Masterkeying in an acceptable level, Industrially. this is what i am incapable of as a locksmith. this what i take for granted that i thought i know. :mrgreen: regards
since at this point, it seems it might be of no benefit to others reading this, can i just continue sending it to you as PM next time?
