Are these the pins you made last week or made some new ones based on my design? Awesome regardless. Nice to know they work!!
The spools were from last week (previous attempts had been... unsatisfactory), the mushrooms were made today after failing the first couple of attempts to copy your design. Once I clear my pinning tray up again, I will get some comparison photos.

Let's see them photos nite0wl!!! Glad my design inspired you into making one like it. It was by accident but that was the main idea behind my method. No one security pin should be the same. Although Comrade has designed a pin that would make you quit lock picking hahaha! I will try to make this custom Lulu this weekend. Something tells me I'm going to have to use all my spair pins to bring this beast to life. I will make another thread just for it.

Ask and ye shall recieve: (Larger version at https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CCmHrZHXIAAeyma.jpg:large) Not the best photo but the camera I have just doesn't want to do macro shots. Leftmost and center-top are the two attempts I made at your design, the others are attempts at (from L to R) barrel, spool, spool, mushroom, and mushroom, with three different serrated designs. These were all made from old .230" Yale CUP-2 driver pins out of an old HPC pin kit (#YPA-115).

Come on man making me look bad on my own thread... haha! Those look awesome! I am not sure how big those pins are but my American lock pins are so small I don't know how I'm going to get too creative with it. Only so much room... I need a magnifying glass from hobby lobby and a lot of patience...

Don't mean to show you up. These are .115" diameter which is more or less standard diameter across most common deadbolt/rim/KiK cylinders (definitely larger than American and most other padlock cylinders). I managed a passable side by side comparison so you can see the sizes: Left to right: Medeco Biaxial mushroom driver, my homemade Yale mushroom driver, my homemade Yale serrated driver, American Lock serrated driver.

So a vote for a pin name. Lulu Or Fatman I'm going with lulu! Haha Comrade called it a Lulu because it does resemble one. I was thinking more of a atom bomb but lulu just stuck. I made a double lulu!!

When some folks I know through conferences heard that I was making homemade pins they demanded photos and then a video of my technique. Here is the latest example of my attempts at Lulu type pins: For comparison there are a pair of .230" long (.115" wide) Yale drivers on the far left, and a Kwikset spool and American Lock serrated on the bottom (left and right respectively). The three in the upper row from center to right are various attempts at the lulu type driver, the second from the right is the experimental one. The experimental pin is the result of a couple of flubbed takes of the demo video. It started as a lulu attempt which I left too much on the 'square' end, then it got a second scalloped lulu type cut higher up. Finally, realizing I had left too much flat space near the ends I added a final deep serration near the bottom. Unless someone objects I will call this pin the "serrated-double-Lulu". I shall have to find the time to test this pin in both isolation and in concert with more common designs. Unless I am mistaken what I have taken as the reference model for the "Lulu" was the driver BSG_314159 displayed in the last picture in his original post of this thread.

Nice one. I expect that would really mess up someone with a bit of counter milling near the shearline. I am going to stick with Lulu. Fatman just doesn't seem right for design.

I added serrations to that guy but I think it didn't end well. I will try it out inside of lock and let you guys know how it picks. I imagine if I use it as a driver pin with a number 3 serrated key pin it would make for a epic challenge

Here it is guys!!! The first US American Lock 5200 with a lulu pin (in the middle) The whole set up!! I think that lulu pin is going to cause that spring to have some extra force because its so much longer than the rest of the security pin. Lets see how fun this is

So I decided to put the core with the Double Lulu into a 5200 body I sanded down nice and shiny Don't worry you guys it was a crappy new master lock produced version so no authentic american locks got hurt in the making of this post! (Notice the master lock core on the left lock and the american lock style core on the right lock) Guys!!! This was a hard pick. I literally had to go so light on the tension and just tap that lulu to make it open. The lulu was the last pin to set too!!! What have I designed???? **I installed different spings so the first two pins had a lighter spring and the last 3 had a harder spring. I did this because the light spring did not push that lulu the way I wanted it and I was to lazy to remove the 1st and 2nd pins. It made for a harder pick tho because the first two pins needed light pressure from my pick and the back 3 needed more force. I will be installing different spring tensions in my locks to add another variable.
