Assa V-10 pinning?

Don't know about the rest of the guys and gals here, but I don't keep try-out keys of factory sample bittings.

Along with heavy equipment keys, standard access control/fire panel/electrical panel keys, and other useful key sets, I actually do have a fairly large selection of high sec keys (including some factory bittings) for tryout purposes. It's served me well once (and only once) - opened a Medeco Biaxial I picked up off eBay.

Don't have any ASSA tryout keys though, so install away!

I remembered that I have an Assa Twin cylinder with a set of two keys that was part of a dealer's demonstration set - one key works and one key doesn't - but only the side bitting differs between keys.

Look familiar?

Both keys are exactly the same as in the black & white photo from the book.


A better look at both keys.

The top key matches both the main and side bittings on your key and has '599/51' stamped on the bow.


Reverse side of keys.

The top key has 'Demo 60' and the bottom key has 'Demo 06' stamped on the bow.


Also, the side bitting codes stamped on the other Assa keys I pulled out do follow the same pattern as Gordon's with a letter appearing before some numbers.
