MTL Interactive in C13 Padlock Body I found this to essentially be a 5 pin lock, once you have those outers picked, all you have to do is tickle the inners for an open! Ive posted a little thread about making a pick for it HERE. adi_picker

Nice! i have a MTL interactive plus kik that is a pain for me to pick. The 4th pin is the lowest cut & the 5th is the highest. i have a hard time getting to the 5th pin without oversetting the 4th.

I think mine is similar G-Lock, the 4th is either a C (2nd largest / deepest cut) or D (largest) pin, and the 5th is an A (smallest). What pick are you using? I definitely had trouble with oversetting until I made the pick I used to open it, and then it was a cinch. I found using reasonably heavy tension also helped to keep everything where I wanted it, and again the pick definitely made it easier because I could apply more torque. Take a look at my pick making thread, and check out this PDF from datagram on MTL. The article is really in depth, and I found it to be really helpful (Shouts to you if your'e reading this dg!). Upon rereading that article though, I realise that my lock only had the serrated drivers. Ill have to try and get my hands on some mushrooms and spools in the future to mix things up. Does yours have any of the spooled drivers? Perhaps this is the difference. Either way, I'm sure it'll fall real soon for you man Now that I have a better pick, I've also got a Sargent Keso around here that I think Ill have a crack at tommorow. Best of luck, adi_picker

Killer work Gordon! Glad you like it mate, sorry its a little beat, it was the tidiest one I could find in my stocks. Its hard to find one with the blue plastic bumper intact, they tend to perish pretty quickly, and I often see them in the wild with the bumper on the ground below them. They are pretty popular with specialist / high security lock OEM's here down unda, I know of at least 1 other lock manufacturer that rebrands them, but the name escapes me. To make up for my tardiness, heres a video of a fella gutting and having a yarn about one fitted with an Abloy cylinder, something I definitely haven't seen before! adi_picker

Hey Gordon, do you still consider yourself an intermediate picker? After picking a bilock I think you should change your mind about your picking skills and level. Congratulations my friend

Good work GWiens2001! Also, ignore my question in thread "Look what I got in the mail today" as I asked if you picked any of your new locks...

I'd call that a better accomplishment than me getting the BiLock, adi. Well done! @femurat - yep, intermediate. Still have difficulties with Medeco, have yet to pick open an Abloy Protec or DOM Diamont, and have had no luck with the MCS. Actually, have not had enough time lately to pick, so my skills are slipping. Gordon

G-lock wrote:Today's picks, the 2 abus locks had standard abus cores with sc1 keyways in them. I picked them & replaced them with some kaba gemini cylinders. The american with best core was the most difficult for me to get open. Its the first time ive been able to pick a best. I still cant open the assa lock & it only has 5 pins in it.
Some nice picking there, G-lock. And don't feel bad about the ASSA. They make a really high quality lock with very tight tolerances. Gordon
