I have the Backhoe, Bobcat, Equipment set, maybe 40 keys, used twice(they do have a larger set now), have a Cabinet set as well, handy when you need, Great for Emergencies, saves time, could save lives.

Those prices are insanely high,
I made my own tension wrench for IC core before they were even sold

those are for SFIC, my lock is LFIC. Don't think those tools work work as the control lug is totally different.

I have a box of old locks that I recently dug up, and have been trying my hand at them again. I've been out of practice for a while, so it's been a bit tricky. Locks include Brinks, Master, Ace, and a couple unbranded ones :)

Here are a couple locks I recently picked. One was significantly more difficult than the other. You guess which one is what!

Cheers :)

I try everyday to pick and usually carry about 3 locks with me when I go any where in what my wife calls my fun bag, I get really bored and usually have locks, books and speed cubes with me.
I usually always carry this brass Best lock with me as I am trying to pick to the control line to pull the core, I have opened this lock many times with various techniques but never to be able to pull the core.

I also have been trying to figure out a way to pick my Miwa magnetic lock, I just started looking into these types of locks and have yet to do it, thanks goodness I have the keys to this one.

Congrats on picking such nice old padlocks. Keep trying and one day or another you may be able to pick it to control. Dunno if your core has the pin holes at the bottom of the keyway. If so, making a specific tension wrench may enable you to pick it to control.

If you want to embed the pictures in your posts you need to find the url of the jpg image and enclose it in the image tags. something like this

Code: Select all

and this is the result

I'd love to get my grubby paws on that Miwa padlock for my collection. Very jealous! :D

This was my breakfast today, a nice little lock that I picked with my furry assistant. (The key next to it was not for this lock.)

Image

The keyhole was on the smaller side, but the lock was very sturdy in general and the key turned only around 45 degrees against a very stiff spring which would then lift a small bolt out of the way.

Image

The lock has no manufacturer's markings, but seems to be built to stop something from sliding in the groove. The something sliding in the groove also probably coves the screws the lock is attached with when in place.

Image

A nice little puzzle with four pins, non of them security pins
