Lurking on line, it seems only right to help the conversation a little
www.bramah.co.uk is the Bramah Factory website, with
www.bramahusa.com currently an alias owned by Bramah. Bramah will and does ship anywhere in world and take credit cards. On ebay you will find both old type (pre 1963) and modern. A new modern lock will sell for something around 25% of the current retail price. However also seen are 25 year old used locks (ex Boots the Chemist), selling for close to 20% of retail which is slightly unreal...who elses locks have a real second hand market! Since the conversation came out of the USA, if you can't find a sample let us know...........the principal lock usable in USA market is the Rim Cylinder (C17) or Screw In Cylinder (C17Si) though the latter is not really long enough to fit Baldwin Hardware and the Bramah Deadlocks, though State and City Laws mean they don't fully comply eg New York City - where the bolt through has to be an 1" I think, while Bramah's throw is 22mm (ie less than 1"). There are no distributors or installers in the US, though we were building a steady business with Daniel Pehr, who sadly lost his business in the Trade Centres on 9/11. Have a good day.
