Hm. Your security system is vulnerable to a electromagnetic pulse. :D

Nah, it isn't. I made a tin-foil hat for it, just like mine!

Actually, tin foil hats may help.

Yeah, I have worked with Emteks, they are very nice quality. I call them the "Old Baldwins" of Assa Abloy, I rekey them all the time to baldwins and schlages. Does anyone know why the keys are cut so flat, (I mean the "peaks" seemed to be shaved off compared to the schlage OEM keys.) I guess it reduces wear??

Anyway, awesome keys everyone!!!!

Happy Holidays!!!

I've read somewhere taht tin foils can ven strengthen some of the radiation/waves.
I guess when the EMP does come we better spend the time hoarding bread and tinned food ..:D

I actually have many "virgin" locks and rotate a few nicer ones from time to time. (like in every 2 months)

I just enjoy the novelty factor of a "new" lock and key from time to time.
Does anyone else do that too?

It also makes some sense from a security point of view but that's not at all why I do. I think it's a marginally useful if you are borderline/straight paranoid. ->If someone scouts your house out there's a chance the lock has already been changed.

Be warned it still won't stop the imaginary super-secret evil high-tech ninja organisations with limitless resources and stunning expertise to direct at ordinary people. (insert imaginary picture of Ernst Stavro Blofeld petting his white Persian cat here) :D

I have bilocks for the doors as of now.
(I used to have a BKS Janus but I couldn't resist and now that I've played with it, since then it's barred from actual use. If you don't know the Janus check it out, the key alone looks very intriguing.)

, the ninjas know it now. Have to watch my mouth better next time...

Maybe they will steal half a cup of sugar, move around my magazines and hide a few of my stuff. That what the imaginary ninjas always do around here....
BTW does anyone have a working thing to say to people like that? when I'm confronted with such crazy stuff I always try to reassure them but it's never working.

Oh and my previsu one was a assa twin.

My keychain has:
A massive antique key (6 inches long)
Vita 6 pin (I think)
Yale 5 pin - really worn down but still works!
Chub lock key (back door has been replaced, but haven't taken it off yet)
Bike lock key (don't know where bike lock is)
And a keyring which has a tiny bit of radioactive material in to make it glow.
A broken led torch
All on a long skater style chain.

I was just given one of the most poorly designed products I've ever encountered, the combination USB drive and bottle opener. It seems like a fine idea, until you consider the possibility of sticky beer foam encounter 16 gb of valuable data.

Needless to say, it's now a fixture on my keyring.

Among other things, a one gallon tag from the local blood bank as a blood donor. I've long passed that, but now donate to the American Red Cross. I strongly encourage all to donate regularly and as often as medically advisable.
It's a good day when I learn something new.

The key ring is a maglite holder, so it has that functionality, too. I like it because it snaps over my belt, hangs down and fits in the top of my pocket, this makes it easy to pull my keys and stuff out since I use them most and I can still use the bottom 75% of my pocket to hold stuff and the fact that it hangs into my pocket keeps down the janitor look/noise of things jangling. It's also useful to be able to take it off and put back on for use with putting my keys in door. Thanks for the heads up on having a separate keychain for car keys, Gordon! Also, insidious to make the mechanical lock unpickable  .

Contents:
Swiss Army Knife
1 W3-filed by hand
2 KW1s- filed by hand
Chateau disc lock key- factory cut
compact iPod charger for when I'm in a pinch
flat nail clippers, all my other nail clippers seem to break
compact knife steel for sharpening knives/emory board on nails/various other uses
bottle opener/phillips/flat head screwdriver this is probably what I use the most
water proof container used to use for pills but I don't take Melatonin anymore, might use for matches or something, but I don't need them
metal USB drive, I've never had a plastic one last more than three months  but yes, I always keep them on a keychain
Here's a close-up on the iPod charger:
