You need to know the exact mac address for the lock you are attacking and then also the exact pair key. I am inexperienced with lock picking but I think the bluetooth is going to be more secure.

Is this one of those situations where you're actually the owner of the company or something like that?

That's a valid question when someone registers and comes out of the woodwork to pump the virtues of some new product, then drops back off the forum. I did a quick search and couldn't find an affiliation between "Ian Kellogg" and the NoKe lock or FUZ Designs, who makes it. That's not to say he used his real name as a forum username, but it was a place to start.

He's posting from an ISP near the East coast of the USA and FUZ Designs is located in Utah, so no "smoking gun" there either. So, it's still up in the air, he may or may not be affiliated with them.

It would be nice if he came back to answer you directly but he hasn't logged in since January 11, 3 weeks after he posted his comment.

Ian fixes vintage arcade machines, so I don't think he is part of this lock company.

'Noke' Bluetooth Keyless padlock

Postby mjwhit » 10 May 2016 5:52

[EDIT: Merged to existing topic -Squelchtone]

I thought you guys would be interested in seeing this, its the first Ive seen of this kind.

My first thought was: "Is it shimmable?", a quick google search showed me the disassembled picture which shows ball bearings, so I assume its not. Kinda interesting. Powered by a common watch battery that apparently last around a year. Priced around $100.
