Have to agree with you there, Spuds. :D

And don't go showing chess sets like that, L0ckcr4ck3r. That could cause a divorce if I tried to buy one of them! Truly drool-worthy.

When you are designing your cutaways, I see that you are using some program to render the before and after. Is that a program like solid works or some other CNC based program? Also when programing the CNC, how do determine some of the cuts lengths? Are their dimension diagrams for the locks that you have found or do you trial and error until you have found something that you like? Maybe we can do this in a PM but other opinions and methods are always appreciated :D

So I received this little piece of goodness today.

Image

Its always one thing to see it on a screen and something entirely different in person. This is very beautiful and extremely well done all the way down to the good old made in America sticker on the tightly wrapped tissue paper.

Thank you for this lock, I hope to have many more from you in the future. It really is a piece of art.

Even my wife who generally is unimpressed with the "whole lock thing" thinks this is incredible.

Yup, theres 11 available although at last count i had 5 "confirmed" and 4 "maybes" on the list of people who wanted them. These photos were of MacGnGs one that he sent me so it only had 1 key and a few marks on it. The rest are all NOS and come with 3 keys. Doubt i'll ever find another job lot of NOS Emharts so once they are gone, thats it.

I forget that not everyones a machinist on this forum... that metal block is a fixture to hold it while its being cut. Theres a 15min vid showing how this lock was cut for anyone who's interested

thanks squelch
