Vintage and Unusual Locks

Postby Bud Wiser » 24 Aug 2006 13:50

Would any one else be interested in sharing and viewing vintage locks and unusual locks? Perhaps if there is enough interest the moderators can create a new forum just for collectors. I for one would love to look at and read about vintage and unusual locks that we have!

Let me start the ball rolling with a vintage Master 77 Little Giant

Hope this sparks enough interest for others to share what they have! Even if you don't have any thing to share right now at least sound off if you think this is a good idea!

THAT WAS YOU?!

...kidding.

I second bpc, this seems like a really good idea, I have a lot of 21 really old (my mom thinks they are fourty years old...but I don't know about that) small Master locks. They look like they could be used on luggage or something. I still need a way to clean them though..

This would be excellent. I think a collectors forum would be awesome. I tend to collect the tools of anything I take an interest in. I've actually got my eye on a couple of things presently, and I'm hoping to riffle through my Grandfather's quanset hut in the near future.

Also? My Boss's father (a very very nice fellow) used to do all of the advertising for the Abus company. So I'm going to see if he'd be willing to part with any cool advertising pieces.

I think it's a brilliant idea!

I just saw these right after I read this thread, thought you might care. They are two vintage combo locks from 1950-60's

Some fine grade steel wool will shine up the outside nice. Clean off any gunk with some solvent first, so it doesn't gum up the steel wool.
