Brinks Deadbolt 2017-119 Series

I recently got this lock and took out the 2 secrity pins and its easy to pick but the problem is that when applying counter clockwise pressure (needed to unlock) the first then the 3rd then the 2nd bind but then randomly after I've picked that like 5 times it stops binding all together and non of the pins will bind up but then when I put clockwise pressure on them they suddenly bind again and set in 2nd 3rd 1st order yet this would be the wrong way if it was on a door so how do I correct this and what is causeing it? the brinks deadbolts i have had the (dis)pleasure of coming in contact with have all been of such poor quality that it scares me. i literally had one fall apart when dropped from a height of approximatly 4 inches. that being said its not unusual for some locks to be easier to pick in one direction rather then the other. do a search for plug spinners.

There is really nothing causing the different pins to bind in different order except how much tension you are putting on the cylinder and how you are working your pick.

It's just springs and pins in there. Nothing inside the lock is changing

Some do tend to pick easier in the wrong direction. A couple of things could cause it like tapered pin chambers or worn/filed pins. Also the bible could have a tapered chamber or even a worn spot on it from a slightly miscut key and pins popping.

Either way, that's why God made plug spinners.

well yeah I know about plug spinners and decided to make me one sometime because of this lock but I think it has something to do with the nut thats on the back being too loose or too tight. How tight should it be. I also noticed by moving it (jiggling it) then I could get it to snap back and pick right.
