cheap, easy beginner padlock, rekeyable, camo

ok, i was browsing the local big lots. (its a cheap, bargain bin of a store) and i noticed they had these camo colored master brand padlocks. and even better, they are rekeyable! fully! and best yet, they were only $3!!!!! three dollars!!!!

they are decent. for a padlock. i dont think there are any security pins. and it took all of about 10 seconds to pick. but it is very easy to remove the core once open. there is a regular phillips head screw in the body of the lock, under the shackle.

i have never rekeyed a padlock before, and mostly because i didnt want to plop down some money on something nice (as i have only ever seen nice padlocks that are rekeyable) and then go and bust it by not doing this or removing the key or something by accident.

i would suggest anyone new to rekeyable padlocks, etc, to go and see if they can pick one up for a few bucks like i did, i got two (at 3 bucks why wouldnt i?!) adn just play with it!

note: both of mine require very strong tension AFTER ITS PICKED. light tension while picking, and then once its turned a few degrees, very hard tension to overcome the strong spring force on it.

$3.00?? What a deal !

You can repin with American padlock pins ( spool, serrated), they are the same diameter, the pin numbers are off by one ( ie a master #1 pin = an american #0 pin or maybe the other way around )

basicaly u have car boot sales, ppl come along with all the crap they want to get rid of. u get a couple of thousand at the big ones. all cheap all crap

should be noted that in the UK a boot is what we call the trunk of the car...(i think...)

ya thats the idea but they usually bring vans full of stuff and fill a few fields with stalls. u find some really good stuff at them but i haven't been in a few years. must go 2 some with summer.
