'Guard Security' Lock

Postby SCJudd » 16 Jan 2007 22:21

I recieved two of these from a friend. I've tried to pick them but for the life of me, I cant get any more than 3 pins to bind.. if anyone has been able to pick this lock, can you share a few pointers? It's a 6 pin.. that's all I know.

Very light tension, this lock has spools in it

yea and it looks like theres 6 pins in it. id try another lock for a while like master no. 1, 3, or 5. you joined about the same time i did and have about the same post i do, so if u have about the same experience as i do, id go for a different lock

shim

I dont see the anti shim flange on the end of that plug. this is somehow now common on chinese locks. Click on the middle picture, and take a look.

subnoizchild024, I've passed the Master 5, Abus 55, and Master 140 and am just looking for something new.

Anyone got a suggestion for a cheap but difficult (well, more difficult than the Master 140) lock?

I use all homebrew tools. My favorite is my 'miniature' small hook. I don't use rakes unless I have to, because I enjoy learning the pattern that the pins bind in.

Thanks!

Try a Brinks rekeyable house key padlock. Or if you want something really hard go for a brinks shrouded lock.

Both can be found at walmart for $8 - $15

good luck! :)

i have picked bunch of these today, they are also branded "Guard".
Together it took me about 11 minutes. They are swarming whith spool pins though they opend very easily.
No need for light tension. I´ve pushed them quite hard and still raked ´em successfully.
They look very nice, but it is easy pickin´.
