Hello,
I have myself two abus combination locks, brand spanking new, nice and shiny hehe.. I have a 165/40 and 165/30.
The reason I got them is because I seen the Master 175 bypass trick and thought I could do the same on this lock..
But this lock, being Abus, its well made and I cant seem to find a bypass, the 165/30 is a 3 wheel and other is a 4 wheel..
Also, I have a Masterlock, doesnt have any numbers on it, but it costed me £12 from B&Q and I can pick it in a second, it has 5 pins, whats wrong with the lock ?? it picks to easy, I can post pictures if you like..
Thanks

i've opened the 4 wheel before but it's quite a pain compared to the master version, although i posted about a bypass a while ago that works sometimes.
the difference between the abus and the master in terms of decoding the combination is that on the master the flats are directly to the right of each number, and on the abus there are essentially two flat spots exactly between the first and second and third and fourth numbers, which means you need something curved at 90 degrees that can slide down between two numbers, and if that group is right it will go all the way down into the body.
i might post pictures later, but suffice to say the abus one that looks like the master one, isn't.

Hello,
I think you might be thinking off the wrong lock, here are pictures off the locks..
Abus 165/30
Abus 165/40
And a good friend off mine, managed to get hold an Abus marine lock for me, looks really tough, 4 wheel combo lock.. here it is
Abus Marine 180IB/50
If anyone knows off any bypasses for these locks then your helo would be awesome, I feel kind off silly for buying these locks and then I have no use for then lol..
Thanks once again

Ive got the Abus 165/40, its a little sod to decode, i used a feeler gauge (0.05mm & 0.08mm) cut flat at the end. the numbers should be 3 off what they feel, cant remember which way. Ive not tried decoding any other locks with this method but i struggled on this one i have to be honest.
You probably wont get it in 10 minutes on ur first try just keep at it and you will get it.
I find the easiest way to find the combination is to hold a sharp corner from your cut down feeler gauge firmly against the wheel inside the lock and turn the dials, you should feel a very soft click as u find the point.
Good luck and let us know when u get it.
All the best

Hi, I have both a Abus 165/40 and a 165/30. The 40 is quite easy to pick using a sharp tipped feeler guage (0.1 mm or 0.004"). It feels like a small "bump" and is clearly found between numbers. Just add 2.5 to where you found the bump, and you got the right combination. In the image below the bump was found between 7 and 8, giving that the right number was 0. The same thing goes for the 30 but the one I have is much more difficult to "read" with the feeler.
