New old stock for older MCA style RS/6000's. It has three positions, the key can be removed at each position. It functioned as a cover lock as well as setting the boot mode for the system (boot from install media, internal disk, or boot into maintenance mode).
huh, ive herd of these a few times but never come across a picture or taken the time to go looking. Thanks for sharing. The question is can you open it. but no details on how, no sense in getting the thread locked.
