Postby bajadan236 » 16 Apr 2007 16:36

hi, im new to this site and new to the lock picking world. First i would like to say thanks, because all of these great posts r... well GREAT! I just bought a beginer's set , which came with a "how to lock pick" book. So i was woundering what lock or locks ( type, modle, sec.) should i be using for being a noobie to lock picking. Well, which locks are the easyists to pick and which ones should i stay away from untill i get the hang of lock picking? Well, i think thats about it, so thanks in advance!

First off welcome to the mad house.

Second, i wont issues the rules as UWSDWF will be along to do that soon.

You should fill out your profile so we can give better advice based on location. but ill give it a shot based on what i know (nothing in general)

If your from England get your self a Yale (Or union/zone) rim cylinder. re pin this and follow DBs guide (Buy 2 if you can as yale pin chambers 2 and 4 with spools)

If your from America get your self a Kwikset Rim Cylinder. re pin and follow DBs guide. (Schlarge will do but they will be more of a challenge... so im told)

If you are from mainland Europe you are stuck on brands but get a cheap ass euro profile and follow my guide as well as DBs guide.

Hope this helps

All the best

John

Welcome to the site.
As brands/models of locks I can't really give you that information because you haven't filled out your profile e.g. your Country.

But you should pick-up a cheap "DeadBolt" and follow this guide viewtopic.php?t=10505

Hope this helps.
