NorDan Mulit-lock?

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

NorDan Mulit-lock?

Postby Pentland 2006 » 17 May 2007 14:14

Need to fit a multi-lock on a NorDan patio door, but can't seem to find any info from the NorDan website.
The new owner bought the flat after it was repossessed but the locksmith/Joiner (possibly?) who gained entry during the Repo butchered the front door ASSA lock and the NorDan Multi-lock systemon the back.
He has removed both to cover up the mess.

The only other info I can give on the multi-lock is that it has 3 shoot bolts one of which is where the lockcase is situated.

The code on the MUL-T-LOCK  is 846f and it had an ASSA Oval Ext/Int cylinder fitted.

I have a pic of the handle set which was the only thing left on the patio door
Don't know if I can post it?

I think you are trying to fit a MULTISTRIP or simular,

If you are not good at this sort of thing i suggest you dont go down the route of self fit and instead get a lockie in as they need setting up and fitting correctly in the first place to give trouble free useage,

Diy multistip fitment to a fresh instal is somthing i wouldnt reccomend to someone not in the trade,

POst a picture of your door, your lock and tel us your skill level,

If you are simply replaceing like for like then simply slip the new lock in and screw it in that doesnt need a discussion about,

We also need to know what it is your actualy stuck on,

The chances are that if Assa locks are fitted it will be a Fix Multipoint Lock, these are a standard lock and are available from stockists that sell Yale MPL's.

846f is a reference no. for a standard Fix MPL.
They are a 3 wedge bolt lock.

Go here:-

http://www.duffells.co.uk/catalogue.htm

when in catalogue, type in page 205 (bottom of page) - is this what you are after?

It will be similar style to the one on page 204, but it is a 3 wadge Bolt mechanism. (No deadbolt and latch in centre section, wedge Bolt there instead).
