Can't fix LSDA 3" padlock w/ revmovable core

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Can't fix LSDA 3" padlock w/ revmovable core

Postby Lockfixer » 8 Jul 2007 7:03

Was able to pick said lock but don't know how to remove core to re-pin it. It has a small hole next to the core itself on the bottom next to the core. Any help would be appreciated. Les

By removable core you mean a SFIC lock right? If it is you'd have to pick it at the control shearline to be able to remove it. I've never dealt with a IC padlock before but I assume it would work the same way as any other SFIC lock for removal and re-pinning.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

LSDA

I am not sure of exactly what kind of lock system this one has. I suspect it is not SFIC. Have you looked into the picked open shackle hole for a screw or pin? Are you sure it is rekeyable? LSDA imported a lot of brass extruded locks that were not simply rekeyable. Post a picture for better suggestions.

Check under the shackle, if oyu picked it it may have a hex head screw retaining it in the padlock body.

If not post a picture of your lock in the position you picked it, then we can help
