Old brass combination entry locks

I need some information on a lock I cannot identify...

I apologize for not having a photo, but I think I can accurately describe it.

These are on old wooden entry doors on a house built around 1900. They consist of a metal door knob and metal faceplate with a small metal (brass?) knob below the doorknob. I know this is a combination lock, but would like to know what the specific term used to describe it. I cannot find ANYTHING that resembles it online anywhere.

This is a foreclosure property that I need to gain access to and all the entry doors have these locks. The house is locked up tight as a drum and if I can circumvent this lock it will keep me from having to bash out one of the antique windows.

Thank you for considering our little site to help with your problem but that is not what we do. We are hobby pickers, we don't tell anyone that stops by how to bypass a lock. The best and least frustrating thing for you to do is call one of your local locksmiths. They have the tools and training to help with your problem.
