alright cool, thanks. Did you check out the lock? I think it costs way too much for what it is, but if I made them I would sell em that high too 8)

It's a cool idea for quick changing the pins around. Think I'll make a few as well. I got a new tap and die set thats been begging for a project.

heh yep you have. I did a guide on it but didn't bother tapping the top of the chambers. instead I found a cheaper option.

Oh wow, I've been doing this for a while, I never knew it would "sell".

I generally took cylinders from our scrap pile at work and keyed them to various pin numbers/lengths to practice on. One week I would focus on Schlages, the next week maybe some Corbin-Russwins, etc.

It really helps if you're able to change the scenarios that quickly. Medeco locks are similar and thats where I got my idea from.

There is another ebay seller cochise1872 aka Gifts, treasures & cool tools Item number 170199004307 selling a slighltly different practice lock with a milled edge and a slide-on slide-off bible cover for faster repinning. He also includes a handy pick mount for picking practice. The price is a bit more reasonable, at 28.00. I can't copy the URL, but the title is User Rekeyable 6-Pinned PRACTICE LOCK w/ Bonuses -
He can also provide pretty nice looking cutaways
Shipping is a bit high to the UK and Canada, however, but it looks like a good deal for the price. Snail mail in the US is under 7 bucks.

Medeco already does this on their mortise cylinders.

The screws used for this are grub screws which are also known as socket set screws. They're available at hardware stores such as Home Depot, Rona, etc. So are the taps and keys.
